MARK MARIN DESIGN is a boutique design studio founded by Mark Marin in Sydney in 1990 - working mainly across Workplace, Hospitality and Residential and Retail sectors. 

Our experience is international including substantial projects in Australia, UK and the Middle East. We have worked with both large and small clients across a broad spectrum of work and at all levels of scale and budget. Experience ranges from objects and furniture to individual residences and offices from 50 sqm to 45,000 sqm. Each project presents a unique opportunity to create something truly special. Every client and space is unique and  when combined with the specific demands of a particular brief, leads to an outcome which is different and exciting in every case.

We work with individual end-user clients through to large corporates being part of much larger complex project teams of Project Managers and specialist consultants and strategists.

The changing nature of the workplace is a constant challenge. Over the last decades, the traditional office has evolved from a relatively straightforward environment catering to a limited range of activities and functions to something far more demanding and sophisticated. Many complex factors such as flexibility, density, employee profile, sustainability, organizational culture and identity as well as cost, all come into play. Real estate costs are constantly rising, placing pressure on organizations to maximize the efficiency of their space. The workplace now needs to cater to several generational groups who each have differing perspectives on both the office and their careers. 

The practice is conversant with leading edge workplace strategies - having been involved on a number of early workplace re-engineering projects in Sydney. Flexibility has become paramount in organisational design - especially now in response to Covid conditions. Organizations everywhere are re-assessing their workplaces in terms of how they actually work and operate with many varied responses. We well understand the evolution of these complex and demanding workplace dynamics and are very capable of responding to the needs of the new globalised workplace environment.
